Vinacontrol – Journey Of Organic Certification For A Sustainable Vietnam Agriculture

Organic production has become an inevitable trend of world agriculture. In Vietnam, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has submitted the organic agriculture development scheme for the period 2020-2030 to the Government and received approval in Decision 885/QD-TTg dated June 23, 2020 of the Prime Minister. Accordingly, Vietnamese agriculture will be restructured towards increasing added value and sustainable development, contributing to positioning and enhancing the brand names of Vietnamese agricultural products on the world agricultural map.

Vinacontrol is proud to be the appointed organization to participate in the project, in collaboration with the Center for Organic Agriculture Promotion and Studies under the Vietnam National University of Agriculture to organize training courses on farming as well as organic certification according to TCVN 11041. Besides, Vinacontrol also conducts actual assessments of many farms across the country and cooperates in organic certification for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in many provinces and cities.

Most recently, Vinacontrol Ho Chi Minh City awarded the certificate of organic standards to Organic Hopefarm Cooperative in My Hoa commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province with a model of organic citrus fruit trees oranges, tangerines, and pomelos. According to Vinacontrol Ho Chi Minh City's assessment, up to 98% of organic HopeFarm's test results and analysis of soil, water, and product samples have no trace of substances outside the list, the rest appear very low and far away allowable threshold.

In the complicated epidemic situation, Vinacontrol experts are still trying our best to bring Vietnamese organic standards closer to farmers, organic products quickly reach consumers.
