Vinacontrol – 65 years of proud development with the country

On 24/10/2022, Vinacontrol Group Corporation marked the 65^th anniversary of establishment, a proud milestone of the first inspection, testing, certification and verification organization with the longest history in Vietnam.

65 years of affirming the leading position in the field of ensuring the safety and quality of goods

On 24/10/1957, Vinacontrol Group, originally the Department of Import-Export Goods Inspection (including Import and Export Commodity Inspection Bureau) under the Ministry of Commerce (now is MOIT), was established according to Decision 514/BTN-TCCB by the Minister of Commerce.

Vinacontrol is responsible for inspecting exported-imported goods, building quality standards for goods and especially inspecting 100% of export shipments with the goal of not letting unqualified goods leak out. Laboratories of Hai Phong Department and Sub-Department during this time are really the first scientific and technical facilities to hold the central position of the industry, so that testing and inspection work has built reliance and reputation for quality management agencies and foreign trade organizations in the world.

In the next period, Vinacontrol constantly expanded its network of stations throughout the country, persistently sticking to production, import and export activities, ensuring timely delivery of goods. At the same time, Vinacontrol was a pioneer in implementing innovation projects such as the "ITC" project on improving the quality of exports sponsored by the United Nations, or innovating business management with the plan “Business with one target of state-funding contribution”.

Entering the "Doi Moi" period, Vinacontrol continued to be one of the pioneers in implementing the equitization policy of the Party and the Government. The company had been successfully equitized and officially operated under the joint stock model since June 1, 2005.

Up to now, Vinacontrol has been a conformity assessment organization operating under the model of a joint stock company. The range of services and business sectors is increasingly expanded and diversified. In parallel with maintaining the strength and reputation of traditional inspection services, the company constantly researches and develops services that are receiving great attention from society such as food safety inspection; certification of conformity for consumer goods; certification of organic agriculture; medical equipment inspection; certification on sustainable forest management; price valuation; environmental monitoring and appraisal; and other high-tech inspection services.

With its achievements during the operation, Vinacontrol is proud to be the first inspection organization to be awarded the First Class Labor Medal, the first inspection organization to achieve Vietnam Value Award, and many certificates, emulation flags and other noble awards recognized and awarded by the Party, State, Government, ministries/sectors.

Continuation of pioneering tradition

During the celebration week, the Board of Directors and nearly 1,000 employees of Vinacontrol Group Corporation together have reviewed the achievements during 65 years of development and committed to starting a new journey to actualize the aspiration to become a widely recognized conformity assessment organization, a strong economic organization.

Strong messages have been given by Vinacontrol's Board of Directors. The world is in constant fluctuation with unpredictable changes. Consumer demand, technological developments and supply chain volatility are indicators of further developments in the global economy and the field of conformity assessment. To ensure the sustainability and pioneering position of Vinacontrol in the new period, each staff member of Vinacontrol must pursue self-innovation continuously.

Business activities continue to inherit the operating principles that have become the guiding principle from the very first day of its establishment "Independence - neutrality - objectivity", and at the same time maximize the philosophy of putting customers at the center through constant improvement of service quality.

Finally, all employees must work together to help Vinacontrol continue to grow strongly, become a company with a lot of contributions to a better, safer world with higher living standards through improving the quality of products and goods and the efficiency of production and business activities of the business community.
