The President of Nippon Kaiji Kentei Kyokai (NKKK) from Japan visited and worked at Vinacontrol

On February 28, 2024, Vinacontrol welcomed Mr. Masaaki Ishida - the President of Nippon Kaiji Kentei Kyokai (NKKK) from Japan to visit and discuss the cooperation direction between the two Group in 2024. Prior to this, Vinacontrol Group and Nippon Kaiji Kentei Vietnam (VNKK) had signed a cooperation agreement since 2022 on providing testing and analysis services for exported wood pellets.

 Japan and South Korea are the main markets for Vietnamese wood pellets. In particular, the Japanese market requires exported pellets to be sourced from domestically planted forests with sustainable forest management certification. With Japan's continuous increase in importing wood pellets from Vietnam, the cooperation in testing and evaluating the quality of wood pellets between Vinacontrol and VNKK is also being strengthened and developed.

VNKK stated that the test results of Vinacontrol's wood pellets are highly appreciated by customers. This is the basis for NKKK Japan to enhance contact, introduce, and persuade Japanese importers to use VNKK and Vinacontrol's services. Mr. Masaaki Ishida also emphasized that VNKK is experiencing good development in Vietnam and hopes that the relationship between the two sides will become closer and more intimate.

In 2024, Vinacontrol and VNKK will continue to strengthen cooperation, exchange technical expertise, enhance service quality, and evaluate and test exported wood pellets. At the same time, they will expand into other areas such as minerals, fuels, carbon credits, etc.

Currently, Japan is Vietnam's fourth largest trading partner (after China, the United States, and South Korea). Japan is the third largest export market (after the United States and China) and also the third largest import market (after China and South Korea) for Vietnam.

Statistics show that bilateral trade between the two countries has steadily increased over the years. The total bilateral trade turnover in 2023 reached nearly USD 45 billion. Specifically, Vietnam's export turnover to Japan reached USD 23.3 billion, while the import turnover from Japan to Vietnam reached USD 21.6 billion.
