Cashew nut exports for the entire year of 2023 is estimated to reach 3.3 billion USD

According to the Agency of Foreign Trade  (Ministry of Industry and Trade), as of the end of September, Vietnam's cashew nut exports were estimated to reach 456,000 tons with a value of 2.6 billion USD, increasing by 19.6% in volume and 14.3% in value compared to the same period last year, continuing to maintain its position as one of the key agricultural export items. Among these, the United States and China remain the two largest markets for Vietnamese cashew nuts. Vietnam's cashew nut exports to the US are expected to continue to grow strongly following the visit of US President Joe Biden to Vietnam in September.

Based on the export results up to this point, cashew nut exports for the whole year 2023 are forecasted to reach 3.3 billion USD, surpassing the initial target of 3.1 billion USD set at the beginning of the year. However, it is still unlikely to reach the record set in 2021. The global cashew nut market is predicted to continue growing in the near future due to the trend of preferring vegetarian and plant-based diets, prioritizing alternative protein sources, leading to a high demand for various nuts and processed nut-based foods, including cashew nuts.
